Pretty nice kiting spot. Not really beginner friendly because the down wind trap requires a boat rescue. Camping executed fairly well.
While making reservations over the phone I specifically asked if this would be a quite campground to unwind, relax and sleep. The response was "yes". Upon our arrival we were totally shocked with the loud trashy music, people shouting and a general lack of respect. We chose to change campsites and make the best of our situation. The next campsite was in an RV area with TV's and music blaring throughout the evening. To make matters even worse the owners rented out a large majority of the campground for a wedding with 200 plus people. The music was very loud and there were lots of drunks shouting and making noise throughout the night. By 1am things finally started to settle....In the morning I made a complaint specifically about the wedding...the response was the wedding goers are campers too. Never again...if you are looking for a quiet peaceful camping experience stay clear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great pleasant people for sure... But for such a large size camp ground it's almost insane to think they don't stock any food or beverages or fishing tackle...Promoted heavily for it's fishing..it's insane someone doesn't just rent a camp spot for the summer and sell basic salmon tackle/ downrigger clips and a few lures.. possibly even having a few Snickers bars for sale wouldn't hurt It's quite a ways from the closest gas place to grab a lunch.. for such an expanding camp site it should really be serviced a bit better... I was kinda shocked that they don't sell absolutely anything..
Great hidden campground! Several sites available along the water on a weekend which everything else was booked. Free showers, available laundry. Rentable portable fire pits and propane. Not noisy. Nice little river less then 1km to take and nice swim in and spend part of the day. About 10min from Port Alberni. Just always call ahead to see whats left but chances are something will be a available.
We stayed on on boat very quiet and peaceful. Ramp was great. Hard to dock with alot of wind and not much space between boats that are moored. We had a hard time entering and leaving with a 30 ft.
