Best fish and chips on Vancouver Island! It was a delightful surprise when we tried the food. Very good salad, homemade chips. You can get the fish without the batter if you so choose.
I do love their food, miss their original Cesar dressing as it certainly doesn't taste the same but it's still good. All their batter options are delicious, I always get half fries and half Cesar. They also have very yummy chicken strips. Their keylime cheesecake is the only desert i have tried and i certsinly enjoyed it. Can say that 99% of my visits are positive, one waitress was a little unpleasant and I only saw her once there.
Always a treat. Normally a 5 out of 5 but last visit the fish with the chips was a bit greasy. I am sure we all have a day like this Love the service and the smiles .
Ordered a pair of prawn skewers, a piece of cod and some chips with it.A great selection of batters, and a great selection of frozen fish. Even the prawns were frozen. I could understand if Port Alberni wasn't actually a PORT. It's inexcusable to serve FROZEN prawns and fish in a harbor town.I've personally pulled thousands of prawns and dozens of cod out of our inlet, and they serve you FROZEN prawns and cod from bloody Australia.I do however quite enjoy their chips, perfectly and lightly seasoned, and you have access to both white and brown vinegar at your table in their convenient spray bottles, certainly a nice touch.A Frozen 2/5 for me this time.
It was PACKED, so you know the food is good. We ordered the seafood sampler platter and the kids ordered a fish taco and the kids fish and chips. Portions were HUGE and the quality was great. The sampler had halibut, coho salmon, cod, Ceasar salad, coleslaw, and a massive portion of fries. Service was awesome and friendly.
